The Pushkin Klezmer Band is a Jewish-Gypsy group from Kiev, featuring best wedding musicians from Ukraine and Moldova.

​For centuries, these places have been nourishing rich traditions of klezmer and Romani music, and it is the only place in Europe, where klezmer culture is still alive today. Pushkin doesn’t try to revive klezmer: its musicians just continue the traditions, playing at weddings, parties, and concerts, in synagogues and in the streets. Continue reading

2. – 3. 7. | Jewish Košice with Jana Teššerová: SYNAGOGUE & THE GALLERY OF ĽUDOVÍT FELD


In September 2015, Jewish Community in Košice opened a gallery named after an eminent Košice artist Ľudovít Feld. The exposition installed in the synagogue on Puškin street includes the works of Košice-born painter Ľ. Feld, student of the Košice painting school of Eugen Krón, as well as the works of other important Slovak Jewish painters.

SATURDAY, June 2 | Tour of the Synagogue on Puškin street with a lecture on Jewish monuments, Holocaust and a visit to Ľudovít Feld Gallery accompanied by a screening of the film about the painter. First admission at 2:00 p.m., second admission at 4:45 p.m. | Entrance fee: adults 2 €; children, students and pensioners 1 €
