KLUB, Štúrova 11 | Tickets 1 €
Exhibition of Monika Powalisz’s (Poland) comic anthology Golden Bees will open this year’s edition of Mazal Tov Festival. The anthology offers a glimpse into the life of well-known Jewish inhabitants of Warsaw in the inter-war period, their fates, dilemmas and the environment in which they grew up and lived.
Scripts of the six stories included in the Golden Bees (Złote pszczoły) anthology were all written by the director, screen writer and script editor Monika Powalisz. Other comics in the anthology were drawn by six young and acclaimed Polish female artists: Joanna Jurczak, Malwina Konopacka, Anna Czarnota, Agata „Endo“ Nowicka, Olga Wróbel and Zosia Dzierżawska. Through their individualised drawing, each of the authors has lent the characters their unique style and traits, breathing new life into every one of them.
Monika Powalisz will deliver a lecture during the exhibition launch.
You can visit the exhibition every day since July 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in KLUB.
